How much do you want AI to remember about you?
That’s the question Microsoft is starting to answer with its new Copilot memory update. Until now, Copilot has been great for quick tasks, summaries, emails, and answers, but it didn’t really remember anything about you. Each time you used it, it felt like starting over.
But that’s changing.
Microsoft is adding new memory features to Copilot. This gives you real control over what the AI keeps and what it forgets.
You can now tell Copilot to “remember this.” Soon, you’ll also get a full memory management page that shows everything Copilot is storing. If something is wrong or no longer needed, you can update it or delete it instantly.
Why the Copilot memory update matters
Just think about the time saved if Copilot remembers:
How your team writes reports
Your preferred formats
Important client names or details
Instead of explaining the same things again and again, you can focus on the work that matters.
And if something changes, like a client’s phone number or your writing style, you can edit that memory right away.
A new feature: Connectors
Another big part of this update is something called Connectors.
Right now, Copilot can work with OneDrive. But soon it will also connect to Google Drive. That means you can ask Copilot to:
Find a document
Summarize a whole folder
Pull insights from stored files
…without opening anything yourself.
Over time, Microsoft plans to add even more services. This will help your business operate more connectedly and organized.
How the Copilot memory update helps your business stay in control
These features are rolling out across the web, Windows 11, and mobile devices. Some may be free, while others may end up in Copilot’s paid version.
What matters most is the balance: Copilot becomes smarter and more personal, but you choose what it remembers. You get the benefits without giving up control.
